Mr. Sok Voeun Elected Chairman of the Cambodia Microfinance Association

Phnom Penh, 12 March 2026 – The Cambodia Microfinance Association (CMA) announced the election of Mr. SOK Voeun, Chief Executive Officer of LOLC (Cambodia) Plc., as Chairman and H.E. DITH Nita of CAMMA Microfinance Institution as Vice-Chairwoman for the 2026–2027 mandate.

The leadership positions were elected by the newly formed CMA Board of Directors following the Board election held during the CMA Annual General Assembly 2026 in Phnom Penh, which brought together more than 100 member institutions, including Microfinance Institutions (MFIs), banks, Financial Leasing Institutions (FLIs), and Rural Credit Institutions (RCIs).

Alongside the Chairman and Vice-Chairwoman, 11 industry leaders were elected to serve as members of the CMA Board of Directors, representing a broad cross-section of Cambodia’s financial sector. The newly elected Board will guide the strategic direction of the Association and continue advancing responsible lending practices, consumer protection, and financial inclusion across the country.

In addition, Oknha HOUT Ieng Tong of Asian Business Group has been invited to serve as Advisor to the CMA Board.

Leadership for the Next Phase of the Sector

Mr. Sok Voeun, the newly elected Chairman of the Cambodia Microfinance Association (CMA), is the Chief Executive Officer of LOLC (Cambodia) Plc. He is also a member of Certified Management Accountants (CMA), a member of the Institute of Public Accountants (IPA), a Board Member of the Institute of Banking and Finance (IBF) and previously served as Vice Chairman of CMA. Mr. Sok Voeun has more than 20 years of experience in the banking and microfinance sectors, with expertise spanning digital and product development, as well as leadership and management across credit, risk, finance, and human resources. He holds a Master of Business Administration in Finance and Banking from Build Bright University (2005) and a Bachelor’s Degree in Economic Science in Management of Enterprise from the former Faculty of Law and Economics Science (2000).

H.E. Dith Nita, who served as Chairwoman of CMA for the 2024–2025 mandate, has been elected Vice-Chairwoman for the 2026–2027 term. She is currently Chairwoman of CAMMA Microfinance Institution and Board Member of the Institute of Banking and Finance (IBF). With extensive experience in Cambodia’s microfinance sector, she has played an important role in strengthening industry governance and promoting responsible finance. H.E. Dith Nita holds a Master’s Degree in Financial Management and a Bachelor of Commerce (Honours) from the Australian National University, Australia, and is recognized as a Chartered Banker by Experience by the Chartered Banker Institute, United Kingdom.

Strengthening Cambodia’s Financial Inclusion

The newly elected Board will play a key role in advancing CMA’s mission to support the responsible and sustainable development of Cambodia’s microfinance sector, ensuring continued access to affordable and reliable financial services for individuals, households, and small businesses across the country.

As a non-profit industry association, CMA represents the collective interests of financial institutions committed to promoting financial inclusion, consumer protection, and the long-term stability of Cambodia’s financial ecosystem.
