[The Phnom Penh Post]: Cambodia expects to attract more Indian investors and tourists in the future, with the two countries launching cross-border QR code payment services.
The official launch ceremony of phase one of the new system (Indians Scan Cambodia’s KHQR Codes) was held in Phnom Penh on June 2.
The event was attended by Chea Serey, governor of the National Bank of Cambodia (NBC), Vanlalvawna Bawitlung, ambassador of India to Cambodia, and Saswat Kumar Mahapatra, general manager of the Reserve Bank of India.
Representatives from the Ministry of Tourism, Cambodia Tourism Board, Cambodia Hotel Association and Cambodia Restaurant Association, as well as the Association of Banks in Cambodia, Cambodia Microfinance Association, and Cambodian Association of Finance and Technology were also present.
In addition, representatives from multiple banks and financial institutions and Indian restauranteurs in Cambodia were also in attendance, with approximately 190 guests in total.

Through their mobile banking applications, Indian travellers can settle payments for goods and services, efficiently and securely, at 4.5 million merchants across he Kingdom.
